Day 82: Stopping to smell the roses

“I’ll sleep when I’m dead.”

That’s my motto. I am living this life to the fullest and going full speed. The only way I’m stopping is if I get sick or run into a wall (inside joke). I am savoring spending time with friends, even more so than before and now I’m the busiest I’ve ever been and I’m suddenly not busy, if that makes any sense. Yesterday I met a college friend for coffee and we walked to Starbucks, smelling the roses along the way. Last night, after the junior high open house, I met friends for margaritas and a late dinner. Typically I would never schedule so many events in one day, but now I’m suddenly not tired or “busy.” Today I met friends for coffee, lunch, after school play date, and after dinner drinks. Smelling the roses along the way and even bringing some home today! Thanks, M. Life is good. xo

  1. I love that you’re stopping to smell the roses. Youre busy being present. Way to go sister pants. When I was reading this I was thinking how lucky I am to have a two year old who has no sense of time- she has to smell, touch, even taste all things along our walks. Sometimes I feel the need to urge her to keep movin’ but it’s so so so much better to experience life the way she does. Glad you’re finding your inner child again. Please keep posting!! I’m loving your life!!!!!!!!!! Loooooove YOU!!

  2. Sometimes I feel like I’m Tom Hanks, in BIG. I think it’s a gift to be with a child and to see the world the way they see it. They are so honest and real and present and have so much to teach us. Closest to our true nature! I LOVE KIDS! Especially yours and Kimmy’s and April’s and MINE and Megan’s and Stacey’s and Michele’s and…. all of ’em.
