I am happy that we got to celebrate Charlie’s birthday today with family, doing what he loves and feeling his joy of being an almost teenager.
We enjoyed donuts for breakfast, bowled in the afternoon, made pizzas for dinner and ate red velvet cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes for dessert.
Life is sweet! Today was good. Sending blessings of peace to you and your family, and especially to those in Munich today.
Happy Birthday, Charlie. You are loved! xo
We celebrated my oldest’ birthday today, and I enjoyed watching him do all the things he chose and seeing him have fun. What he wanted most today was to hang out with family and friends, and to have red velvet cake. 🙂
Simple dreams come true.
I love being his mom, and I am thankful for another year together.
What are you celebrating this month? Make it good!! xo
My birthday continues this week! I love it. I got a card in the mail yesterday from my mama. Tons of Facebook messages graced my wall, giving me time to think of all my friends and loved ones. And today, a package arrived in the mail with lots of goodies! Thank you April for sending me my favorite cake. I can’t wait for Juliana to bake it for me. The kids were thrilled most especially with the Zots and Takis. I loved the flip flops candy and the bag from Brenda too! What a surprise. Thank you. I miss you and appreciate you thinking of me. xoxo. And your card was perfectly us. 🙂
Today I was stuck at home, waiting for the Gardner and the Realtor to clean up the yard and show the house. This is one part of moving I don’t love. I felt stuck here waiting for appointments and people showed up early and stayed way too long. I was bummed to be stuck in the house on a bright, sunny day, but I’m glad my house is clean and presentable! I was able to schedule a few more visits with family before we move, and work on the Grade 8 celebration festivities. I coordinated a few more details of upcoming vacations and sorted through piles of papers, and scheduled more appointments. It’s a good thing that I had to be home after all. But tomorrow, I’m going outside to play! Namaste. Hope you had a good day, honey!
Good News: all three kids had birthday parties to attend today.
Bad News: all three parties were in different parts of Holland.
I am thankful that the kids have all made good friends and were invited to celebrate good times together and were spoiled. I just wish they didn’t land on the same day and overlapping times and in three different cities . We spent at least 30 minutes coordinating logistics, and several hours driving! But it was all worth it.
If the kids are happy, mama’s happy!
Today is my birthday, and if you know me, you know I love birthdays! I love celebrating life – mine, yours, family members and friends.
Typically I’ve had a dessert exchange with all my friends on the night of my birthday, where everyone brings something to share and we get to taste a little bit of everything. I like to just be with everyone I love and that’s the perfect way to celebrate for me.
Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes and celebrated with me via Facebook, and email, texts and phone calls! I loved hearing from you!
I had a really great day in Hawaii with my family. We woke up early and went snorkeling in Hanauma Bay. We loved swimming with the tropical fish in the warm water. I was hoping to see a sea turtle, but no luck. J saw an octopus and Jeff saw an eel. I saw lots of colorful fish and schools swimming around. I loves being in the ocean, just floating around and exploring with the tide and my family.
Tonight we went to Germaine’s Luau. I loved most of it, especially the fire dance and Tahitian dancers. The last time I was at a luau was when I was 11 in Tahiti with my soccer team. This one had an announcer who reminded me of Rodney Dangerfield, with his sidekick who reminded me of Tammy Faye Baker, serving up some Velveeta cheese! The roasted pork was tasty and the location was great. Having a good laugh with Jeff was well worth it, and the kids seemed to enjoy the show too. I’m still laughing just thinking of it.
Life is good and today was great! I hope you had a good day too.
Everyone should have a “wife”. By a wife, I mean someone to help you with the FLOW of raising kids, cleaning up after them, cooking and baking and feeding and entertaining, and solving every day little crises, watching one another’s kids on the playground or while running an errand or doctor’s appointment, and celebrating the highs and lows together. This is a great thing, and something I am going to miss more than I care to think about in 93 days.
Today’s HER birthday and she came over and helped ME fold laundry. What the heck?!? What a great way to spend a birthday, right? That is, after we spent an hour+ helping all our kids do homework and to share every last tidbit of the juicy pineapple we cut up for them. But really, I think it was a great day. Actually I think when doing work and getting things done, and helping one another, whether it be my work or her work, I’m totally happy. I like taking care of our kids and helping each other so we don’t have to do it alone and the kids are happy to be playing with each other. Thank you for MY birthday gift? Huh?
Granted, I should have been at HER house folding HER laundry, but then my little guy wouldn’t have had his baseball uniform picked out of my 10 basket-fulls in time for his early evening game. Isn’t that what friends are for? I’ll be over tomorrow to help you with YOURS. Happy Birthday, and thank you for being my friend and “wife”.
