Living in the Sunshine

I stopped to see the beach and to listen to the waves for 5 minutes before heading home, because I was really “busy” today.

We were going to sit in the hot tub and drink our coffee, but we didn’t. We went for a walk with the kids instead.

We were going to go for a drive to test out my friend’s new car, but we didn’t. We sat on the patio and watched the hawks circling overhead instead.

We were going to make lunch, but rather we put out fruit and meat and cheese and told everyone to help themselves.

We joyfully watched the kids play all day, appreciating them still being kids. We relaxed in the sunshine and talked the day away and there was nothing else I would have rather done. We were very busy, being.

We flowed and danced and loved being together side by side, enjoying our kids and our friendship and living our happily ever after in the sunshine. This is it. This is my version of the best life. Thank you my friend, for sharing your weekend and family and home and thoughts with me. xo

How did you live it up today? What does your happily ever after look like?  Be well, BeLOVErs.

Knowing and Doing

This is a simple post.

Knowing what to do and how to do it is easy. Doing what you’re supposed to do or implementing what you know is the hard part.

Sometimes the hardest part is just beginning, like going out for a run, making dinner, starting a diet, doing homework, beginning a project and on and on.

So if you’re resisting doing what you know you have to do, just begin and get past your own thoughts and personal limitations. Even if it’s a slow start, it still counts.

BEgin.

Beach Time

So chill…up early, out on the beach and in the surf.

The water was so cold, that we rented a wet suit.

It was too bad we didn’t have all day to stay and play and chill with our friends. I love the laid back, relaxing feel of the beach vibe. Seeing the kids in the water and dipping my feet in brought back my carefree, childhood sweet memories.

Life is good, especially on the beach, which is the best place to BE.

Table Topics

The kids were playing table topics tonight as they gathered around the family room with friends after dinner.

One of the cards read, “If you could erase one thing from your life, what would it be?”

Some of the kids had lists of ideas.

I thought about this after I heard of the topic and think that all of our experiences shape us and guide us and make us who we are.

We need the good and the bad, the light and the dark, the happy and the sad. We learn from our mistakes and failures and gain empathy and compassion and knowledge. Some lessons come easier than others. I am thankful for the collection to date and am enjoying creating new ones every day.

Have a good, short week and embrace all that you are. You are enough.

Found

Luckily my feelings of being anxious and lost went away today. That didn’t take long. I think it’s important to feel what we feel and to acknowledge the bad feelings too so that we can realize and process them and let them go as fast as possible because who wants to be anxious and lost?  That is never my intention but sometimes life just is and that’s okay too.

I found my happiness at midnight and throughout the day, when I received a message from Juliana that she had landed safely.  I could finally sleep but I kept waking up wondering if she had texted again and how she was doing.

I found happiness by volunteering with my PEO group and admiring the sunshine and natural beauty of the Redwood trees in Portola Valley. I enjoyed spending time with women and sharing lunch together.

Isn’t this the most beautiful and peaceful place? I want to come back here again.

I felt alive again and cleaned my house and got things organized for the weekend. It really makes me happy when clutter is gone and my space is neat. Seriously, it’s the simple things that make me happy.

Juliana FaceTimed with me when she woke up and SnapChatted throughout the afternoon. I was so giddy to see her face and to hear her voice!!

My sisters both called today and we had time to catch up and I got to talk with my mom too. Since they don’t live close by, I was thankful for our cell phones and time to connect because I love them and need them!

Jeff came home from work and the boys both had events, so we went out to dinner together, which was a great way to the end the day and crazy week with my best friend.

Found my happiness again.

Life is good.  Thank you for sharing this life journey together. Have a wonderful weekend, filled with time for you, time to relax, time to exercise, and time to just be.
